As a consultant for the NYC DOE, she was a lead facilitator in developing curricular content for the NYC DOE STEM Handbook. She also served as a state system of support coach in Illinois, a developer as a math curriculum models committee member, and an Elementary/Middle Grade Advisory Group member, revising state standards for teacher preparation programs.

As a higher-ed instructor, she taught in traditional and alternative certification teacher preparation programs.

After working in the New York City and Chicago Public Schools systems, she took on an external partnership role, supporting school improvement/reform efforts, and eventually becoming director of a state-funded mathematics professional development program.

Wendy’s career arc has taken her from teaching grades 7-12 to graduate-level courses to school improvement work. At New Visions, Wendy previously served as a senior program officer for the MASTER and Urban Teacher Residency programs, providing coaching/field supervision and professional development design/facilitation for mentors and residents. Wendy is responsible for facilitating math professional learning workshops, revising instructional resources, and supporting leadership coaching at New Visions Charter High Schools.
